What I Set Out to Test
I wanted to know one simple thing about Claude Code and SEO.
Could it really take a website from a blank plan to a finished, ranking blog post without me doing all the busy work?
So I set up a small challenge for myself over four weeks.
I picked real local business sites, like a dentist office and a lawn service in Miami, as my test cases.
My goal was to see if I could truly automate SEO with Claude Code and not just get half-baked ideas.
I also wanted the process to be something a normal solo creator could copy at home.
No big team, no fancy budget, just one person and a few smart tools.
By the end, I had a clear answer, and I am sharing every step with you below.

Step 1: Setting Up Claude Code the Right Way
The first thing you need is Claude Code, and you have two easy paths to run it.
You can use the Claude desktop app, which gives you Chat, Cowork, and Code all in one place.
Chat works like a normal AI chat, Cowork lets you build projects from folders on your computer, and Code handles the deeper technical work.
The second path is Visual Studio Code, a free tool from Microsoft that you download and connect to Claude Code.
Think of Visual Studio Code as the screen that shows you what Claude is doing on the inside.
The desktop app is cleaner, while Visual Studio Code shows every file and every small step in detail.
Both work well, so you can pick whichever one fits how you like to work.
To truly automate SEO with Claude Code, I used the paid plan, since the free tier runs out fast on heavy tasks.

Step 2: Building the SEO Automation Skill
This is the part that made the biggest difference in my whole test.
A “skill” in Claude Code is just you teaching the tool how to do one job, so you can call it again and again.
I gave Claude Code one long SEO prompt and told it to save that prompt as a skill.
I named my skill “SEO Content Autopilot” so I could trigger it with a few words later.
Once the skill was saved, I never had to paste the big prompt again, which saved me real time.
This is the heart of how you automate SEO with Claude Code, because the skill does the thinking for you.
From then on, I just typed the skill name and dropped in a website URL to start the whole engine.
If you want the exact prompt idea and how to build your own money-making skills, the guides below walk you through it.

Step 3: Running the Skill on a Real Website
Here is where the magic really showed up during my test.
I gave Claude Code a real local Miami website and told it to run my SEO Content Autopilot skill.
It crawled the site map, learned the brand voice, and read the existing content in a few minutes.
Then it ran a full competitor analysis and mapped out what other local businesses were writing about.
Next, it handed me a content plan built around gaps in the market, sorted into clusters and priorities.
For the dental site, it grouped topics like dental implants into a pillar page with supporting posts.
It even asked if I wanted all 27 keywords or a smaller first batch, so I stayed in control the whole way.
Seeing it plan weeks of content this fast proved you can truly automate SEO with Claude Code at a serious level.
Step 4: The 27 Outlines That Blew Me Away
After I approved the plan, Claude Code got to work on the deep part.
It ran a search results analysis for each keyword to see what was already ranking.
Then it built a full outline for every single article in the batch.
Each outline had a target keyword, a strong title, and a clean set of H2 and H3 sections.
This was not a rough sketch; it was a real content map I could hand to any writer.
Getting 27 complete outlines in one run is honestly weeks of planning work done in minutes.
This step alone showed me how much a solo creator can save when they automate SEO with Claude Code.
If you sell digital products, this same flow can plan your whole content calendar, which the Start a 1-Person Business With Claude AI package explains in full.
Step 5: Publishing Without the Busy Work
At this point I had two clear choices, and I want you to understand both.
Choice one is to have Claude Code write each article, then copy it and set up all the backend SEO by hand.
That means adding images, alt text, meta descriptions, internal links, and external links yourself, which is slow.
Choice two is to connect a publishing tool called Arvo using its API key and integration ID.
When I picked Arvo, Claude Code sent the approved plan straight over, and Arvo built the finished articles.
Arvo added the internal links from my site map, the alt text, and the meta data on its own.
Then it pushed the post right to my test Wix site as a draft or a live page.
This hands-off setup is the real reason I could automate SEO with Claude Code without touching the backend.

Bonus: Turning One Blog Post Into Social Media
This is where my test went from useful to exciting.
I built a second skill in Claude Code just for social media content.
I told it to pull my blog RSS feed and turn each new post into captions for Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
Since the blog was already SEO optimized, the social posts inherited that same smart keyword focus.
To schedule everything, I connected a tool called Blotato using its API key.
Claude Code wrote the posts, then Blotato scheduled them and even built matching infographics from its templates.
I watched a whole month of posts get planned and lined up in the calendar with almost no effort.
Layering this on top means you automate SEO with Claude Code and grow social reach from the very same work.
Bonus: Making Videos From the Same Content
I did not stop at images and captions.
I installed Remotion inside Claude Code, which is a real tool that builds videos with code.
Then I told Claude Code to pull a recent article from my RSS feed and turn it into a short video.
With zero extra prompting, it created a clean slideshow video with captions ready for social media.
You can even ask it to add background music and pick a size like 16:9 or 9:16 for different apps.
So now one blog post became an article, social posts, and a video, all from one flow.
This stacking is the true power once you automate SEO with Claude Code end to end.
The full system behind this stack is broken down inside The AI Blog Monetization Quickstart Guide.
My Honest Results After the Test
Now for the part you really want, the real numbers and the real feelings.
On my main test site, organic traffic value climbed toward 16,000, which is close to $2,000 in value.
My AI citations also grew, meaning tools like search assistants started quoting my pages more often.
These are not overnight miracles; they came from steady, automated posting over several weeks.
The truth is that you can automate SEO with Claude Code, but you still guide the plan and approve the ideas.
Claude Code handles the heavy lifting, while you stay the smart human at the wheel.
For a one-person business, that trade is a huge win in both time and money.

The setup is simple: install Claude Code, build one SEO skill, and connect Arvo and Blotato for publishing and posting.
After that, you just call your skill by name and let the system run.
I proved to myself that you really can automate SEO with Claude Code from the first crawl to the final post.
It replaced the boring parts of an SEO agency and a content team for me.
